While working as General Directorate at the Turkish Red Crescent, he led to works for 3 million Syrian guests to live in the most humane conditions in Turkey. He has played an important role for creating The Directorate of Immigration Services in the Turkish Red Crescent. By his work, International Aid Organizations contributed to share burden of Turkey on the subject of Syrian refugees. During his tenure in the Red Crescent Dr. Mehmet GÜLLÜOĞLU lead the process of preparation and publishing the strategic development plan of Turkish Red Crescent for 2016-2020. Furthermore, he was able to point the need for a new Enterprise Resource Planning System of Turkish Red Crescent then has taken steps in this direction and succeeded to integrate the SAP application to the organization.

 

Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu attached great importance to developing capacity of the Turkish Red Crescent Blood Services and gave significant leadership to the blood donation record broken by 2 million 100 thousand units in the previous year by giving great importance to the projects on carry out to ensure that the entire blood supply required by the country is met from volunteers. He also gave special importance to increasing the international recognition and respectability of the Turkish Red Crescent. Besides taking part in the area of the whole humanitarian operations which are being carried out by the Turkish Red Crescent such as Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Mosul, Pakistan and Gaza, he carried out operations to increase awareness of these operations by world humanitarian aid actors, especially the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies as well. Before his position as General Director of the Turkish Red Crescent, he has successfully completed trainings in areas such as family practice, humanitarian health aids and European Union projects. He has participated in a large number of relief works within Non-governmental organizations. He volunteered for health operations in Palestine (West Bank and Gaza), Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Qatar, Kenya and Somalia. He served as managing director at the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate and the Earth Doctors Association.
