Turkish Diyanet Foundation (TDV) Management Receives Disaster Awareness Training 07 September 2018
The General Director of the Turkish Diyanet Foundation (TDV) Attorn. Mehmet Savaş Polat and other TDV executives visited the Disaster and Emergency Training Center (AFADEM) and received “Basic Disaster Awareness Training.”
The Deputy Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) İsmail Palakoğlu greeted the TDV delegation made up of deputy general directos and unit directors of the organization. Giving brief information about the functions of AFADEM, Palakoğlu explained the recent activities of AFAD regarding creating basic disaster awareness and its corporate capacity. Deputy Head of AFAD underlined the importance of raising awareness about disasters, preparedness and activities concerning reducing risks.
Speaking after Palakoğlu, TDV General Director Polat stated that training offered by AFAD concerning raising awareness and reducing risks are important and thanked AFAD officials for their hospitality.
TDV delegation also visited the Earthquake Simulation Center at the AFADEM and had a minute of earthquake experience and received information about training activities. Following the information briefing and AFAD promotion video presentation, the guests had the opportunity to watch AFAD Search and Rescue Dogs show. The delegation also received information about vehicles used during search and rescue activities.
A Delegation headed by Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs General Director of Information has visited the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). Deputy Head of AFAD Hamza Taşdelen received the delegation and briefed them about corporate history, structure and activities of AFAD. Romanian Ambassador to Ankara Gabriel Şopanda and Attaché Benai Sali visited the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). Head of AFAD Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu received Romanian Ambassador Şopanda and Attaché Sali at his office. The Romanian officials and Head of AFAD exchanged views about possible cooperation between two countries against disasters and cases of emergency.
