Bosnian Search and Rescue Teams Receive Training at AFAD 17 September 2018
Cooperation between AFAD and the Federal Management Authority of Civil Protection of Bosnia Herzegovina is expanding. Within this context, 30 Bosnian Search and Rescue staff received training at AFADEM.
“Basic Urban Search and Rescue Training” took place between September 3 and 14 at the Disaster and Emergency Training Center (AFADEM).
Participants received theoretical and practical training on classification of search and rescue activities, INSARAG standards, organizational structure of teams, field management and coordination, debris removal and use of technical equipment during two week training program.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina team which had visited the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) headquarters within the framework of the training program, received information about disaster management in Turkey, disaster risks and observed the functioning of the Earthquake Watch and Assessment Center.
