Kyrgyz Delegation Visits AFAD 28 September 2018
A Delegation headed by Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs General Director of Information has visited the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
Deputy Head of AFAD Hamza Taşdelen received the delegation and briefed them about corporate history, structure and activities of AFAD. The briefing also included the disaster status of Turkey, structural changes in the disaster management in the aftermath of the Marmara earthquake, Turkey’s international humanitarian aid activities and response to the Syrian crisis.
Following the presentation, the delegation had the opportunity to learn more about the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Center and Turkey’s Disaster Intervention Plan.

The General Director of the Turkish Diyanet Foundation (TDV) Attorn. Mehmet Savaş Polat and other TDV executives visited the Disaster and Emergency Training Center (AFADEM) and received “Basic Disaster Awareness Training.” The Deputy Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) İsmail Palakoğlu greeted the TDV delegation made up of deputy general directos and unit directors of the organization. Giving brief information about the functions of AFADEM, Palakoğlu explained the recent activities of AFAD regarding creating basic disaster awareness and its corporate capacity. HFA Peer Review Completed AFAD Chief delivers closing address at 8-day peer review session in Ankara, where 78 representatives from government, private sector and NGOs participated. Ankara, 9 December 2015 – The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) hosted the European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction’s (EFDRR) Peer Review in Ankara.
