Continues to Offer Aid to the People of Arakan 28 September 2018
Refugees from Arakan remain smiling due to aid provided by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). Most recently, theAFAD Humanitarian Aid Team delivered 2 thousand food baskets to the Kutupalong-Balukhali Refugee Camp.
Refugees from Rohingya who escaped to Bangladesh after violent attacks by the Myanmar Government and who are nor residing in the Kutupalong-Balukhali Refugee Camp have received more aid from AFAD. AFAD has been offering regular humanitarian aid to those living in this camp. The permanent AFAD team based in the area delivered a total of 2 thousand food baskets to refugees living in the 5th and 10th camps.
Food baskets include lentil, chickpeas, sugar, salt, pasta, dried milk and soya bean oil. The permanent AFAD teams have been carrying out regular service in the region since August 2017 when massacres in Myanmar reached a peak. They are offering Turkey’s compassionate hand to victimized and oppressed people.

Turkey delivered 2.500 food baskets to Afghanistan’s Cevizcan region under the coordination of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). AFAD Humanitarian Aid Team in Afghanistan held a series of meetings with the World Food Program (WFP) Turkey Director Zlatan Milisic, Deputy Minister of Disasters of Afghanistan Mohammad Qaseem Haidari and the Turkish Red Crescent Afghanistan Delegation to pinpoint those who are in need and analyze humanitarian aid needs in Afghanistan. Feb.08. 2018. Minister of Culture and Tourism Prof. Dr. Numan Kurtulmuş visited the refugee camps founded in Cox’s Bazar city of Bangladesh to meet with the Arakan Muslims. Minister Kurtulmuş who inspected the Mobile Field Hospital founded by the Ministry of Health and the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) in the camp, joint aid distribution point of The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), Turkish Red Crescent and Diyanet Foundation and TİKA kitchen, received information about projects carried out by Turkey to offer its helping hand at the refugee camps.Minister Kurtulmuş visited the camp Turkey founded in Bangladesh.
Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) gave an Iftar dinner for Syrian orphans living in the Çobanbey district of the Euphrates Shield region. Head of AFAD Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu and a delegation accompanying him along with members of civil society organizations active in the Euphrates Shield region attended the İftar dinner organized for Syrian orphans. Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) has donated food baskets to the Iraqi Turkmen Families in Erbil who have been forced out of their homes and who need help. Head of AFAD Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu met with Turkmen families who were forced to immigrate to Erbil after ISIS attacks that began in 2014. AFAD humanitarian team dispatched to Chad to provide humanitarian aid to the refugees from Central African Republic. AFAD team distributed 6500 food parcels to mainly vulnerable groups in the region.
