AFAD and JAK teams rescue missing person in the Canyon 30 October 2018
A person who got lost in a canyon in the Kocaeli Province’s Menekşe Meadow was rescued as a result of a 3-hour joint effort of the teams from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Gendarme Search and Rescue (JAK) teams.
Ünal T. got lost in the Başiskele District Yuvacık Menekşe Meadow. AFAD and JAK teams carried out a joint rescue operation for Ünal T. who managed to call the 122 Emergency Service.
After the call, expert teams quickly responded and after a 3-hour effort, teams found the exhausted Ünal T. in an alley. Ünal T. whose health was in good condition was transferred to the district center.

An earthquake exercise was planned at a school building which will be demolished as it is not resistant to earthquakes under the coordination of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority in Sivas. Based on the scenario of the exercise staged at the Ahmet Eyce High School, an earthquake measuring 6.5 was simulated.
