Civil Defense Cooperation with Palestine 30 October 2018

Visiting Ankara to hold high level official talks, Palestine's Foreign Minister Raid Malki met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. Before this meeting, Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) Dr. Mehmet Güllüoğlu and Commander of the Palestine Civil Defense Agency General Youssef Nassar signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Civil Defense

Turkey always stood by our Palestinian brothers,” said Çavuşoğlu during the meeting and added that Palestine and Jerusalem are Turkey’s red lines. Underlining the fact that Turkey will make contributions to the development of Palestine as well as working in an effort to end humanitarian problems with all of its offices and agencies, Çavuşoğlu stated that rightful cause   of Palestine and Jerusalem will be supported by the whole World.  

Minister Malki: “Turkey Supports Justice”

Palestinian Minister Malki said that memorandums of understanding signed between two countries brought Turkey and Palestine closer and his country has completed preparations an for upcoming meeting between two countries in Ramallah and planned a workshop.

Turkey always supports justice and uses its entire means for us,” said Malik adding that, “Turkey has moved with speed during the Islamic Cooperation Conference. We are very proud, we have the force to resist all forces with your support.

Cooperation between AFAD and Palestine Civil Defense Organization

Protocols on various fields were signed during the meeting. Firstly, Head of AFAD and Commander of Palestine Civil Defense Agency General Youssef Nassar signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Civil Defense. Later, Deputy Interior Minister İsmail Çataklı and his Palestinian counterpart General Mohammad Mansour singed a Security Cooperation Agreement.

Cooperation protocol signed with Palestine Civil Defense Organization foresees:

- Scientific-Technical information exchange and development of common projects,

- Expert exchange,

- Development of strategies and methods for the reduction of common risks,

- Organization of training of personnel, seminars and workshops in Turkey and Palestine,

- Defining aid procedures in case of natural or human caused disasters that may occur in the soil of either parties.

Turkey’s aid campaign for Palestine Continues

Turkey continues to offer aid to Palestine without a break every year.

Turkey has sent approximately total of TL 240 million aid and 99.500 tons of flour to Palestine between 2010-2018.

Meanwhile, AFAD continues to collect donations as a part of its campaign named, “Be Hope For Palestine” organized in order to help Palestinians who are subject to İsraeli attacks.
