Two Ministries Join Forces for Disaster Training Cooperation 01 November 2018
Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu and Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, signed an “Information Exchange Protocol” and “Cooperation Protocol Concerning Disaster and Emergency Training Services” at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Interior Affairs Conference Hall.
Speaking at the ceremony, Soylu said that the two ministries signed two different protocols.
Mentioning the required paperwork at the state offices, Soylu said these protocols are steps that suit the 21st century.
Soylu stated that Turkey has been competing the World adding that, “These steps do not only offer easier and more practical services to the people, they also make Turkey more attractive and decrease time and financial costs.”

Meanwhile, Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk explained that information and document exchange via e-State application does not only serve the Ministry of National Education but it is an infrastructure that provides services to the whole of Turkey.
Selçuk stressed that training protocols would allow the country to reduce causalities that occur due to disasters and everybody needs to help create disaster awareness.
Cooperation Protocol Concerning Disaster and Emergency Training Services
The cooperation protocol signed between two ministries will allow to raise awareness about disasters, determine risk management policies based on society in the long run, disaster preparedness, investment of serious sources and maintain sustainability.
The cooperation protocol signed between Ministry of National Education and the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority for 3 years will provide the opportunity to adopt an overall point of view about disaster training, establish coordination between offices working in this field and increase existing disaster training capacity.

(March 14, 2013) Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Beşir ATALAY got together with United Nations Under Secretary Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie AMOS in our Presidency. In the framework of the meeting, Joint Action Plan Protocol was signed by Presidency and United Nations Office for the Humanitarian Affairs. Director General Dr. Fuat OKTAY and Valerie AMOS signed protocol that aimed to develop collaboration spheres between AFAD and UN OCHA. Protocol signed for 3 years between 2013 -2015, has aimed to get technical support from UN OCHA for Seismic Risk Reduction Center of Excellence whose construction activities have been continuing. (April 18, 2013) Accommodation, food, health and education needs of Syrians in 17 camps in 8 provinces of Turkey are met by the coordination of AFAD. In Syrian camps, ambulatory care service is offered 5 thousand per day on average. So far, 1 million Syrian citizens were treated and more than 3 thousand childbirths were given. In order to contribute to health services provided by AFAD and Ministry of Health, a cooperation protocol was signed with “Saudi Arabia Humanitarian Aid Union for Syria” on September 28, 2012. Within the scope of this protocol, 10 ambulances provided by Humanitarian Aid Union were sent to their regions with a sendoff ceremony. 4 of the ambulances will serve in Sanliurfa, 4 of them will be in Kilis and other 2 ambulances will serve in camps in Gaziantep.
