Djibouti, 18 May 2015 – The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) will ship 2400 food boxes to the people of Yemen, where violent clashes and internal strifes led to major humanitarian consequences. The materials have an estimated market value of $150,000.
AFAD humanitarian workers, who are currently stationed in Djibouti, are working closely with the United Nations and local authorities to ensure that the humanitarian aid will be delivered in a coordinated manner.
While part of the assistance has been set aside for Yemeni nationals who sought refuge in Djibouti, the remainder will be delivered to the UN logistics center in the region.
