AFAD Delivers Medical Supplies to Quake-Struck Afghanistan 16 November 2015
In the wake of a 7.5-magnitude earthquake, AFAD ships 5 tons of medical supplies to Afghanistan.
Kabul, 2 November 2015 -- The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) delivered five tons of medical supplies to Afghanistan, which was struck by a 7.5-magnitude earthquake on 26 October. At a formal ceremony held in Kabul, Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Health Abdulbasir Sarwar expressed his government’s gratitude to Turkey and stated that “the Turkish people have always been on our side.” AFAD’s representatives, likewise, noted that Turkey stands in solidarity with Afghanistan at this challenging time.
