Istanbul, 4 March 2016 – Turkish PresidentRecep Tayyip Erdoğan on Fridayreceived Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, in Istanbul to discuss the most recent developments in Syria and the refugee crisis in Europe.
AFAD president Dr. Fuat Oktay participated in the intra-delegation meeting.
Representatives from Turkey and the European Union will gather in Brussels on 7 March 2016 to discuss a joint action plan to stem the refugee flow to Europe.
HFA Peer Review Completed AFAD Chief delivers closing address at 8-day peer review session in Ankara, where 78 representatives from government, private sector and NGOs participated. Ankara, 9 December 2015 – The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) hosted the European Forum for Disaster Risk Reduction’s (EFDRR) Peer Review in Ankara. During the event, 78 participants presented their activities to six European experts over 32 sessions and eight days.
