Prime Ministry AFAD Sent Humanitarian Aid to Sudan 01 October 2013

Press Release (01 October 2013) In the cause of heavy rainfall in the capital of Sudan, Hartum, hundreds of people were wounded and more than 1.500 buildings were wracked or damaged. Turkish Red Crescent’s humanitarian aid materials consisting of tents, blankets and kitchen kit, was sent to Sudan with the coordination of Prime Ministry AFAD by Turkish Airlines’ cargo aircraft. Humanitarian aid materials that had sent as the date of 01 October 2013, amount to approximately 150.000 USD with the cost of transportation. Hereby respectfully announced to the public. Press Release (22 July 2013) As of today, there are 201.067 Syrian citizens staying at the 14 Tent Cities, 1 Temporary Admission Centre and 6 Container Cities established by Prime Ministry AFAD for those coming from Syria. The daily humanitarian needs and health services of nearly 300 thousands Syrian citizens, who live outside the camps in various provinces of Turkey, have being provided with the coordination of AFAD. AFAD has erected a total of 14 tent-cities, with 4 in Hatay, 2 in Şanlıurfa, 3 in Gaziantep, and 1 each in Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, Adıyaman Adana and Mardin along with 6 container-cities with 2 in Kilis, and 1 each in Şanlıurfa, Malatya, Hatay and Gaziantep. Potable Water Draw Well Construction Will Be Started in Somalia 28 May 2013
Machine drills and its related materials to be built 30 potable water draw wells by Turkish General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works arrived to Mogadishu Harbour of Somalia which suffers from starvation and drought. Within the scope of Prime Minister H.E. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN’s prescription, machine drills and its related materials were received by employees of Turkish General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works in Mogadishu Airport as of today in coordination of Prime Ministry Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate(AFAD), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Directorate(TİKA) and Turkish General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works(DSİ).

Ten Injured Iraqis Treated in Turkey 28 May 2013

12 Wounded Iraq Citizens Were Brought To Turkey To Treat 27 May 2013
Numerous Iraq Citizens including private citizens injured caused by bombing attack in a military area of Tuzhurmatu County in Selahaddin State of Iraq on 2 December. Iraqi Turkmen Front President as well Kirkuk Representative Erşad SALIHI demanded 12 irremediably injured people treat in Turkey by contacting Mosul Consulate General of Turkey. Within this scope, AFAD brought 12 injured Iraq Citizens and their 12 hospital attendants by an ambulance aircraft which was allocated by Turkish General Staff in coordination with Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry and Ministry of Health.
