Explanation Which is About Accommodation Centers Syrian Citizens Have Resided in 22 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE Because of the recent unfavourable news and columns about the accommodation centers which are Syrian citizens reside, AFAD needs to inform public. As known, in coordination of AFAD, 8 tent cities are built in Hatay, Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa and one container city named Öncüpınar which has 12.000 people capacity is built in Kilis. All these accommodation centers construction including their substructure are built in coordination of AFAD. Also, all needs of Syrian Citizens comprising food, health, clothing, education, telecommunication are provided by AFAD.

(March 14, 2013) In the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Beşir ATALAY will give a speech and action plan protocol will be signed between Prime Ministry AFAD and United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordination Office. With the protocol which will be signed Director General of AFAD Dr. Fuat OKTAY and Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie AMOS, it is aimed to increase the preparation, effective intervention and developing cooperation between AFAD and UN OCHA in condition of humanitarian crisis and disaster.

( March 10, 2013) Protocol Signing Ceremony between Prime Ministry AFAD and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Director General of AFAD Dr. Fuat OKTAY and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio GUTERRES who came to Turkey to hold official talks and to visit the camps which are constructed for the Syrian Citizens by AFAD will sign a cooperation protokol.
Prime Ministry AFAD Became on Full Alert after Iran Earthquake 20 May 2013
(April 16, 2013) After 7.8 MI earthquake in Iran, Prime Minisrty AFAD prepared to send search & rescue and first aid teams to Iran. In this framework, Van and Erzurum Civil Defence Search & Rescue Directorate, National Medical Rescue Units of Ministry of Health and Turkish Red Crescent. PRESS RELEASE (April 13, 2013) Syrian children, sheltering in our country, are joning 35th International Turkish Radio and Television Association (TRT) April 23 Children Festival. Syrian children, from 17 camps in 8 cities, will be participated in 35th International TRT April 23 Children Festival with the cooperation of AFAD and Office of Public Diplomacy, under the sponsorship of Türk Telekom Group.
Prime Ministry AFAD will send 10 ambulances which were granted by Saudi Arabian Humanitarian Aid Organization to the camps. 20 May 2013

News that Military Training is Delivered at the Apaydın Tent-city is False 20 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE (27 August 2012) AFAD has established a total of 8 tent-cities for those coming from Syria, with 5 camps in Hatay, including the Apaydın camp, 2 in Şanlıurfa, and 1 in Gaziantep, as well as 1 temporary admission centre in Hatay and 1 container-city in Kilis.
Fire-fighting Aircraft and Helicopter sent to Albany and Bosnia-Herzegovina 20 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE (02 September 2012) Due to the inability to respond from air to the forest fires that have been continuing in various regions of Albany and Bosnia Herzegovina, our country was asked for help. In that line, as a result of the coordination carried out by AFAD together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Forests and Hydraulic Works, one cl-215 amphibian fire-fighting aircraft, was sent to Albany, and one Kamof fire-fighting helicopter was sent to Bosnia Herzegovina, both belonging to the Directorate General of Forests, on 2 September 2012, Sunday.
