Prime Ministry AFAD Started Distributing Humanitarian Aid on Point-Zero in Şanlıurfa-Akçakale 20 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE (07 October 2012) Taking into consideration the difficulties encountering in bringing humanitarian aid due to acts of violence getting more concentrated in the recent weeks in the North of Syria, Turkey has started distributing humanitarian aid at point zero of the Syrian border under the coordination of Prime Ministry AFAD on 18 August 2012, in conformity with the international law. Our government has informed the United Nations, while the Turkish Red Crescent has informed its stakeholders. Protocol Signed Between AFAD and UNFPA 20 May 2013
(10 October 2012) A protocol has been signed between our Presidency and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on assisting the Syrian families staying in Turkey. On 10 October 2012, Wednesday, AFAD Director General Dr. Fuat OKTAY and the United Nations Population Fund Turkey Representative Dr. Zahidul HUQUE signed the “Family Hygiene Kits Distribution Agreement” at the headquarters of our Presidency, under which aid will be provided to around 20 thousand Syrian families. The aid kits that will be delivered as soon as possible under the coordination of AFAD will be prepared by the UNFPA and distributed by the Turkish Red Crescent. Funds Collected at the Myanmar Aid Campaign Accounts 20 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE (31 October 2012) A total of TL 93,695,710.00 has been collected in the aid campaigns run by Prime Ministry AFAD, the Religious Affairs Presidency, the Turkish Diyanet Foundation and the Turkish Red Crescent Association. 27 More Tons of Humanitarian Aid Sent to Somalia 20 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE (24 December 2012) Within the scope of humanitarian aid activities to Somalia, AFAD has coordinated the dispatch of 27 tons of humanitarian aid supplies to Somali, with the Ministry of Health, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, the Directorate General of State Hydraulic Works and the Yardımeli Association. In addition to the humanitarian aid supplies sent by AFAD via a cargo plane allocated by the Turkish Airlines on 24 December 2012, 2 armoured vehicles provided by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also been sent to the region for use at our Embassy in Mogadishu. Field Hospital and Equipment Sent to Yemen 20 May 2013
PRESS RELEASE (07 January 2013) A fully equipped field hospital was sent to the Republic of Yemen on 7 January 2013 as a result of the coordination between AFAD and the Turkish Ministry of Health. In accordance with the “Agreement signed between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey and the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Ankara on behalf of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Yemen on Donation in the Field of Health ” as published in the Official Gazette of 21 December 2012 no. 28504, the field hospital and 30 tons of equipment sent via a cargo plane of the Turkish Airlines by AFAD is valued at TL 4 million 300 thousand.
