16 Wounded Somalian Citizens Were Brought to Our Country 22 May 2013

Via coordination of AFAD and efforts of Turkish Armed Forces Turkish General Staff, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Health; Somalians who were wounded in the bomb attack in the capital of Somalia Mogadishu, on February 8, 2012 and did not have the opportunity for treatment were brought to Turkey, along with their companions and 5 personnel from Ministry of Health.
Somalian citizens came to Ankara Esenboğa Airport on February 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. by military aircraft allocated by Turkish General Staff. 12 of these wounded Somalians were referred to Ankara Yenimahalle State Hospital and 4 of them were sent to Numune State Hospital in order to be treated.

40 Tones of Medicine, Medical Supplies, Equipment and Devices Were Sent to Somalia
PRESS RELEASE (24 December 2012) Within the scope of humanitarian aid activities to Somalia, AFAD has coordinated the dispatch of 27 tons of humanitarian aid supplies to Somali, with the Ministry of Health, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, the Directorate General of State Hydraulic Works and the Yardımeli Association. In addition to the humanitarian aid supplies sent by AFAD via a cargo plane allocated by the Turkish Airlines on 24 December 2012, 2 armoured vehicles provided by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also been sent to the region for use at our Embassy in Mogadishu. PRESS RELEASE (07 January 2013) A fully equipped field hospital was sent to the Republic of Yemen on 7 January 2013 as a result of the coordination between AFAD and the Turkish Ministry of Health. (26 June 2012 Tuesday) Humanitarian aid has been sent to Somalia via coordination of AFAD which organise institutions, NGO’s and private sector like Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Internal Affairs, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health, Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency Presidency, ASELSAN (a Company of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation) and Turkish Airlines. (28 December 2013) 21 Turkish Citizens were evacuated under the coordination of AFAD from South Sudan which has internal conflict. At the request of Foreign Ministry, AFAD started to work and C-130 type military aircraft belonging to Turkish Armed Forces was sent to Cuba which is the capital of South Sudan to evacuate Turkish Citizens. Total 21 Turkish Citizens including 2 officers of Turkish Embassy in Cuba were conveyed to Turkey safely after their process in Cuba in coordination with Foreign Ministry, Interior Ministry, Turkish Armed Forces and Turkish Embassy in Cuba. Military aircraft landed to Ankara Esenboğa Airport at late night hours.
